Anti-travel rhetoric ignites travel, meetings industry

Travel and hotel industry leaders are lashing back at U.S. officials who have criticized meetings, business trips and conventions as little more than corporate junkets. The sector, which includes convention and visitors bureaus, airlines and national hotel chains, is taking offense to comments like the one President Obama made to an Indiana crowd in February, when he said, You cant get corporate jets, you cant go take a trip to Las Vegas or go down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayers dime.
